How ToneMatch works
We map 478 landmarks on your face
Using on-device MediaPipe vision models running entirely in your browser. No video feed ever leaves your computer or phone.
We read daylight colour on cheeks and jaw
Sampling natural pigmentation where makeup will actually sit, accounting for neck transitions without flash interference.
We match tone family & undertone across 88 shades
Calibrating between Pearl, Sand, Honey, Amber, Cinnamon, and Cocoa, matching warm, olive, neutral, and cool formulations.
* This is a concept demo: the match shown is scripted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my photo or video saved?
No. The vision scan processes live frames in your device's memory using WebAssembly. Once your tone family and matched shade code are computed, image data is discarded immediately.
Why sample cheeks and jaw?
Forehead skin often carries sun tanning, while the inner cheek is lighter. The jawline provides the exact transition point between face and neck, ensuring your base blends invisibly without creating a mask line.
What if I am between two shades?
Because all complexion products on Glowcart include oxidation notes, we recommend picking the slightly lighter shade if your skin tends to warm by evening, or ordering with our free Base Match guarantee.
Why are there no 'fair' or 'dusky' labels?
Because a shade name should describe skin, not rank it. We name tone families after luminous natural elements—Pearl, Sand, Honey, Amber, Cinnamon, Cocoa—and focus on true undertone science.
